A goalkeeper must be quick to deal with a 1v1 situation. Not just quick footed, but quick thinking too. This training session creates just the kind of 1v1 situations needed to rehearse the skills and decision-making needed to deal with an oncoming opponent.

Biography

Currently academy and goalkeeping coach at Tottenham Hotspur, Perry Suckling is in his second stint at the north London club, having previously served as academy goalkeeping coach at Queens Park Rangers from 2015 to 2017. In his long first spell at White Hart Lane, Suckling also enjoyed a stint as stand in goalkeeping coach for the first team. During his playing days, Suckling was a highly rated keeper, representing England at U21 level and serving between the sticks for numerous clubs, including Coventry City, Manchester City, Crystal Palace and Watford.
