It’s the question that sparked an idea that grew to be a phenomenon.
In late 2009 in a small office in Guildford we asked the question. In January 2010 we pitched the idea to League Managers Association Chairman, Howard Wilkinson in a Philadelphia taxi and so began an incredible partnership.
A decade on and Elite Soccer remains the leading source of ideas and inspiration for ambitious coaches and our partnership goes from strength to strength.
Whether you write for Elite Soccer or read it, you’re in great company. Sent to the managers of Premier League and English Football League clubs and with subscribers in over 80 countries around the world it’s the most widely read coaching magazine.
We’re extremely grateful to the LMA ambassadors that dedicate their time to contributing sessions to the magazine. Over the past 10 years we’ve featured sessions from each of the 92 clubs in the Barclays Premier League and English Football League.

We got the ball rolling with Alex McLeish, then at Birmingham City and over the years have had the pleasure of welcoming the most famous and successful coaches in the world including Sir Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, Arsene Wenger, Carlo Ancelotti, Jurgen Klopp.
We hugely appreciate every ambassador for helping us, but several coaches have gone above and beyond and special thanks go to Sean Dyche, Mick McCarthy, Tony Pulis, Paul Lambert, Dean Smith, Paul Buckle, Brendan Rodgers, Alan Pardew, Sam Allardyce and Chris Hughton for their unwavering support in the past decade.
Remarkably, Elite Soccer didn’t have a website until November 2018 when we created our first library of sessions from past issues of the magazine. Its’ launch marked the first step towards our relaunch.

Today we’re celebrating 10 years of Elite Soccer. Over 350 different contributors have created an incredible library of some 600+ session plans, making it easily the most accessible, most comprehensive record of professional coaching there is.
This new website, launched in 2020 brings a new polish to Elite Soccer, doing justice to the calibre of our writers and cementing our position as the #1 coaching brand.
The website showcases new branding and ties together our monthly magazine with the online library. Combined, they provide subscribers with the best and latest ideas in the world of coaching.
At a time when training grounds are less accessible than ever, Elite Soccer continues to take readers behind the scenes with exclusive insight into coaching best practice.
