Paul Simpson

Currently coach of England’s U19s, Simpson also took charge of England’s U20s last year and led the team to victory in the U20 World Cup Final in South Korea.
Starting his coaching career as player-manager of Rochdale in 2002, he went on to manage Carlisle United, overseeing the club’s return to the Football League in 2005. He led the club to the title the following season and was rewarded with the LMA League Two Manager of the Year award.
After a stint in the Championship with Preston, he took Shrewsbury to the 2009 League Two play-off final. He also managed Stockport and Northwich, and has enjoyed coaching roles with Derby County and Newcastle.
