Craig Shakespeare moved into coaching after a playing career of over 500 games, predominately for Walsall, West Bromwich and Grimsby.
Since 2006 he has occupied a number of assistant manager and 1st team coach positions. He assisted Claudio Ranieri in Leicester City’s incredible Premier League winning 2015-2016 season and took on the manager’s role after the Italian was sacked in 2017. Shakespeare also assisted Sam Allardyce when the latter was manager of England.
He was appointed an assistant manager at Aston Villa in August 2020.
