Jim Bentley is closely associated with Morecambe who he played for from 2002-2011, then managed until 2019, at that point being the longest-serving manager in the top four tiers..
Before becoming manager he served as the club’s captain and was part of the team that won a historic promotion to the Football League in 2007. As manager he established the team in League Two thing them to 11th in 2015, equalling the club’s second-highest finish.
In October 2019 he took over as manager of Fylde.
