Nigel Adkins

A double promotion-winning manager with both Southampton and Scunthorpe United, Adkins began his coaching career in the League of Wales as player-manager of Bangor City, winning the title in consecutive seasons.

The former Wigan and Tranmere goalkeeper made the unusual conversion from physiotherapist to manager at Scunthorpe in 2006, winning the League One title in his first season and guiding the club back to the Championship for a second time two years later. He subsequently led Southampton back to the Premier League with consecutive promotions and has also managed in the top flight with Reading. After a season with Sheffield United, he was appointed boss of Hull City in December 2017 departing at the end of his contract in June 2019.

He is agraduate of the LMA’s Certificate in Applied Management at Warwick University.
