The ability to hold the ball in midfield areas is crucial to any side as gaining control of the midfield often equates to gaining control of the game, so this is a session that should be practised often.

Biography

An experienced football coach and an acknowledged developer of young talent, Slade has also built a reputation for being a respected man-manager. Twice a winner of the LMA’s League One Manager of the Year award, with Yeovil Town in 2007 and Leyton Orient in 2014, he has also managed Scarborough, Grimsby Town (twice), Brighton & Hove Albion, Cardiff City, Charlton Athletic, Coventry City and Hereford, plus serving as caretaker manager of both Notts County and Sheffield United.
