Defending principles

Defending principles

This session is about players developing their decision-making skills by executing our defending principles at the right times and in the right areas. It incorporates 1v1 defending, reading cues and triggers, making play predictable, and winning the ball back in the first, second or third lines.

Biography

Tanya Oxtoby was appointed Bristol City Women's manager in July 2018. The 36-year old has previously worked as assistant coach for the Perth Glory Women and Australia Under-20s. In July 2012 she agreed to manage Nottingham Forest Ladies, in addition to her playing duties with Doncaster. After moving from Doncaster Belles to Everton, Tanya finished her playing career to work full-time as a coach with Notts County Ladies, as their Development Team Manager.
