Playing semiprofessionally until the age of 40, he took up his first management post at Ryman League side Redbridge, before securing promotion to the Conference for Newport County in 2010.

His success in south Wales led to npower League Two side Aldershot Town calling for his services, and the 43-year-old has just signed a contract extension with the club having taken them to the cusp of the play-offs last season.
