John Deehan is one of the most recognisable faces in soccer coaching in the UK, having first taken up training ground duties at Manchester City in 1988. That followed a long playing career during in which he’d performed at the top level for the likes of Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion, Norwich City and Ipswich Town. Deehan would go on to manage Norwich and Wigan Athletic, though has coached extensively – and in a variety of roles, from Assistant Manager to Director of Football and Chief Scout – at the likes of Sheffield United, Huddersfield Town, Villa, Northampton Town, Bolton Wanderers, Grimsby Town and Plymouth Argyle. He joined Sheffield Wednesday’s coaching staff in early 2014.
