Nicky van Melick

Dr Nicky van Melick

Biography

Nicky van Melick is a post-doc researcher and a former sports physiotherapist. As a physiotherapist, she solely focused on patients with knee injuries and has a special interest in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries. She completed her PhD in 2019 at the Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Her thesis focused on return to play after ACL reconstruction. Currently, Nicky is working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Sports & Orthopedics Research Center of Anna TopSupport in Eindhoven. Her primary 
area of research remains athletes with ACL injuries, with a particular focus on physical and psychological recovery after ACL reconstruction, as well as rehabilitation and return to sports in youth athletes
