Attacking movement and interplay

Attacking movement and interplay

This session helps improve movement and interplay between midfielders and forwards. It’s designed to encourage understanding between players through timing of runs, weight of pass, and expectation of a team mate’s movement.

Biography

Sir Kenneth Dalglish is a hugely decorated player and manager notably with Scotland, Celtic, Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers. In 2018 he was knighted for services to football charity and the city of Liverpool. He began his career at Celtic and became captain 1975. Between 1971 and 1977 he won four Scottish First Division titles, four Scottish Cups and one Scottish League Cup. His performances led to call-ups for the national team and would go on to win 102 caps for Scotland, scoring 30 goals. He played for his country in the 1978 and 1982 World Cups. At Liverpool he enjoyed similar success winning six league titles, three European Cups and five domestic cups. Dalglish began his managerial career with Liverpool in 1985 and won a league and FA Cup double in his first year. During his six-years in charge, Liverpool won the league on three occasions and The FA Cup twice from 1985–1991. He joined Blackburn Rovers in 1991 and turned the Second Division side to eventual Premier League winners, before spells as manager of Newcastle United and Celtic. The league title at Blackburn ensured the club's first title in more than 80 years. It was in July 2009, when Dalglish returned to Anfield initially as a Director of Liverpool's academy. He then took caretaker charge of the club following Roy Hodgson's departure in January 2011 and after a successful spell he was appointed on a permanent basis. Kenny went onto guide the club to a sixth place finish in the Barclays Premier League that season. In his first full season back at the helm, Dalglish then guided Liverpool to win the Carling Cup to secure their first major trophy in 6 years. Dalglish is regarded as one of the true greats in the game and is a member of the LMA Hall of Fame.
