The emphasis for this session is on exploring different movements and rotations to create overloads and finishing opportunities. It’s a very dynamic, high tempo session, with a lot of repetitions for players to achieve success.

Better finishing

This session is designed to support and develop a range of finishing skills in and around penalty area. It is a very realistic session with plenty of opportunities for players to practise finishing within a game environment. With these exercises the players are not only working on improving their individual techniques but also on improving their decision making.

This session is all about the transition from defence to attack. Players love it because they get a lot of opportunities to express themselves and there are numerous ways to develop both individual and team learning on this topic.

Attacking the second six-yard box

The aim of this session is to develop collaborative movement of attacking players in and around the penalty area, as well as working on the quality and variety of the final pass.
Counter-attacking: ball work

Counter-attacking: ball work

The moment an opponent loses the ball is the time to exploit the opportunity of players being out of position, so this session looks at transitions and counter-attacking with a specific focus on running with the ball.

Biography

Dmitri Lavrinovic is currently working for iSports Football College as a college tutor and football coach. Until recently he was director of coaching at the PSG Academy Florida Plantation, where he led the continued professional development programme of the coaching staff to ensure they were all fully educated in club’s curriculum, coaching philosophy and methodology. Previously, he spent 16 months in China working as a lead coach for Manchester City’s international project. He was formerly a youth team coach and head of coaching at League Two club, Accrington Stanley, and he also enjoyed a spell at Bury FC as a youth development coach. He has a BSc in football studies and holds the UEFA A Licence.
