Play around the box

This session looks at attacking play around the box, movement within the box and delivery into it. It’s not unique but it is important for attacking play around the box, both in terms of movement and combination play. The quality of delivery is also important; no rockets into the box!

Biography

Dario Gradi is a veteran of more than 1,500 matches as a manager, having first taken charge of Wimbledon back in 1978. After 171 matches in charge he moved to Crystal Palace, then on to Crewe Alexandra in 1983. At Gresty Road he took charge of the team for 1,244 matches, across a 24-year period before returning as manager in 2009 where he took charge again for another 109 matches. During that time Gradi secured numerous promotions for the Railwaymen, oversaw the development of a number of future England players and was inducted into the Football Hall of Fame.
