Dean Holdsworth

Dean Holdsworth, a holder of the Uefa Pro License, managed several clubs before buying one, his former club Bolton Wanderers. He was involved in the club 2016-17 holding the positions of chief executive, then director of football. In a distinguished 21-year playing career that included spells at Brentford, Wimbledon and Bolton Wanderers, Holdsworth scored 240 goals in 704 appearances. He began managing at Redbridge before taking over at Newport County. Holdsworth left Newport with the club in the play-off places in the Conference Premier after guiding them to the  Conference South title with a record points total in 2009-10 of 103 points. He took over Aldershot Town in League Two, his first managerial position in the Football League. Dean enjoyed success in the role by being awarded the League Two manager of the month for March 2011 and guiding the club to a positive finish in the 2010/11 campaign. He remained with the club until February 2013. He later managed Chelmsford City and Brentwood Town. In 2010 his Newport team beat Mansfield, who were managed by his twin brother, David Holdsworth.
