Biography

Harry Redknapp is one of the best-known and most experienced managers in the English game. In a 24-year management career, taking in nearly 1,400 matches, he took charge of Bournemouth, West Ham United, Portsmouth (twice), Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur, QPR and Birmingham City, plus a stint in charge of the Jordanian national team. His unique, galvanising, player-centric style brought much success and entertainment. With Portsmouth he won the FA Cup in 2008, he also took them and QPR to promotion, and Spurs to the Champions League quarter-finals. Redknapp grew up in London and starred as a wide midfielder, notably for West Ham United and Bournemouth. He also played in the US, for Seattle Sounders. After leaving full-time management he became a football advisor to Central Coast Mariners in Australia, a director at Southern Football League side Wimborne Town, and a television personality.
